Hey chub_by, do you keep any European chubs? I always thought that would be an awesome fish to have. They look like supersized American chubs.

I like the elodea. It gives my fish protection from birds and cats. Plus it's become a friggin blue spotted sunfish gold mine. I have like 40+ blue spotted sunfish in my pond. They thrive in the elodea.

I would love to have that. I will put some in when the goldfish are gone.

Actuallly, that is what inspired my name But I cannot obtain any since I do not have a fishing license. I am trying really hard to get one because they are my favourite fish.

Yeah, I have lots of American chubs in my pond, but Id love to get a European chub in a very large tank one day. I wonder why they aren't so popular in the aquarium trade.

Most people think they are drab. Those people have not seen a full-grown chub. They are absolutely spectacular. With the silver scales and red fins, they look like a characin GATF
Also, their character and appetite are amazing. They are so greedy it's incredible

People keep masheer, which in my opinion, is no better looking than the chub. I think people keep asp too. They do really resemble characin.

Exactly, chub are pretty similar to Mahseer. Noone I know of keeps Asp. They are great fish but difficult to keep.

Fall fish are really cool. Aren't North American squawfish similar to northern pike minnows? Northern or Colorado pikeminnows are crazy cool. They are giant predatorial minnows. It's weird no one keeps them.

When I talked about North American squawfish I usually meant few species of pikeminnows or squawfish. I think there's some hatcheries that sell them.
