Yellow Belly Pacu Update!

Just posting a thread on my pacu. I didn't want to hijack UnstoppableJay's thread too much more Lol so I thought I'd start my own. I ordered my yellow bellied pacu from Jeff Rapps, probably the only guy that has em and was pretty optimistic. Heard these "yellow bellied pacu" only get 18 inches and they also look really nice so I thought I'd get one and try it out. I received my pacu packaged well and shipped overnight straight from NJ all the way to Socal. When I received the fish it was perfect. Nice finnage and it ate after being in the tank only a hour or so.it Acclimated fine. When I got it it was about 5 inches. Since I got it on Sept 18th it has put on some girth and at least an inch more In leingth . It's doing well eating lots and coloring up very nicely. Thanks to Jeff Rapps for the awesome fish and packaging. I can't stress that enough! Can't wait till this pacu is a monster . He swims constantly and turns quickly so it's hard to get a pic also I have no clue why in the first pic it looks like he is missing his nose/mouth but he isn't disfigured it's probably just my phones camera glitching out.

Also I'm about to order a mass amount of algae wafers should I use hikari 2.2lb or should I use cobalt aquatics bucket of algae wafers. What's the difference in the quality is what I really want to know. And what is the size difference if any. And are the cobalt ones more crumbly or solid like hikari.

Are they called veggie wafers? How do they compare in quality are they still a good brand etc... I've never used that brand. Do they cloud water or crumble easily are they same size as hikari or bigger or smaller

Yes veggie wafers, about the same size as hikari... no cloudy water and crumble a bit easier then hikari but not enough to be an issue. i used to get great ones from Jehmco but he doesn't carry them anymore

Cool just ordered a 5 lb bag of kens fish food algae wafers, It was $44 as opposed to hikari 2.2lb bag for $49 thanks man never would have known that
