Hello, I have just joined this forum I used to have a Yellow Bullhead Named Grumy I raised him from a half Inch long fry all they way to seven years old, Currently I have two small ones in his old tank, I caught them in the shanendoah River not far from my home.

I feed the two large insects to watch them tear them to shreds.

Cool, I have 3 yellow bullheads that I've had since they were an inch long as well. The biggest one is about a foot. I've had them in my outdoor pond for about 6 years now and they'll eat pretty much anything I put in there.

Please specify? two inch long cats are not going to need a bigger tank for awhile, Second off I'm on very limited money right now, "Mommy and Daddy" Don't go out and buy me a 100 gallon tank or any other such think at a second's notice.

niether do mine. thats why i have small fish;)

Well I had the first Yellow Bull in the 20 gallon tank by himself for a long time He didn't do to bad, He liked eating cray-fish and Blacknose Dace especially, non live food he loved bloodworms and gold fish flakes.

He started out in a jar before I got his first tank, a 10 gallon, then when he was about 4 years old he got the twenty gallon and lived in it for the remaining 3 years of his life, He didn't seem to be unhappy, As I said I fed him a variety of food.

Cool your jets :chillpill: It wasn't an attack but an honest suggestion. Just because your bullhead didnt look unhappy doesnt mean he was healthy. Living in such a small environment is what killed him. He was stunted due to high Nitrates and more than likely ammonia and nitrites too (assuming your filtrtion couldnt handle the bio load). You need a bigger tank (for a bigger fish, not the small ones you have now) to help dillute the nitrates so you water stays cleaner longer otherwise they'll build up a lot faster. Also "mommy and daddy" havent bought anything for me, my whole life ive worked for everything i own just as i assume you do. All i was stating was that if you're gonna keep a bigger fish at least properly house it. And welcome to MFK, if you keep an open mind you will learn a lot of valuable information here.:)
