I only feed my fishes smelt and shrimp now. They love both. They tend to favor the smelt over shrimp. The smelt here is a whole fish - so bones are included.

they come with the bones?

or are they just fillets?

With the bones bro..just without the head..I am amazed that they are actually quite meaty...

but i guess the bones wont do nuts to the fishes...its the same like feeding with live fishes..

Personally I don't like Anchoivies too messy and they break up too easy. Plus they are full of blood that will foul the water quickly. I like Silver Sides Better. They are called PAI FAN YU in Chinese as in (Whiet Rice Fish) Their bodies are firm and dont break apart even after being frozen and no scales or blodd to mess with. A much neater fish to feed.

Funny thing is that I Googled up silver sides and they look dfifferent from the ones I feed. I will try to get pics soon.

There are at least a dozen fish sold as silversides, some are freshwater, some are salt, one kind is also called candle fish and so rich in oil that they can be twisted and tied to a reed then dried and used as a torch.
When I was using feeder smelt I would buy them live at the bait shop.
