Breeding silkworms? I find that to be too expensive... especially if you can't afford importing mulberry. I bred African Land Snails, Brown Field Slugs, various species of cockroaches, European Nightcrawlers, Red Wigglers. My friends give me minnows, locusts and crickets in exchange for some of my stuff.

Not only that but IMO if you're breeding minnows or goldies you really need a chiller. As much as I hate feeder fish convicts would be a good idea.

Variety is the key to a healthy lizard anyway... not so much for rodent-based snakes. Although... I know a guy that breed gerbils for his Ball Python.
Good call on the White Cloud Minnows BloodyIrish, I totaly forgot about them. I was thinking of breeding them in my one 500 gallon pond because nothing is in it but tadpoles. Then come fall I would sell them to the LFS in the area. I've never bred them but it's not suppose to be hard and they can survive at lower temps then most tropical fish. I don't even know if they can be considered tropical.
Maybe I should get into the feeder industry.

Thats really good news.. everyone on here knows their stuff.. well except me.. i don't know much about these guys... i like them though.. good luck with him and how is the others doing?
