COMING ALONG AWSOME, WAITING TO BUILD MINE.

HEY ARE YOU GONNA KEEP THE NATURAL COLOR FROM THE PLYWOOD FOR THE BACK OF YOUR TANK, OR ARE YOU GONNA PAINT IT?

Solid works 2007 costs a lot of money. Unless you work for a company that uses it, you will probably not want to spend that kind of cash. I think its close to 14k a seat.

From what I hear, a lot of people are using Google sketchup to make 3d models. I think that is a much more viable route.

the complete exterior of my tank was first painted in a light coat of epoxy. then, i painted the back sides and bottom with a brown waterproof epoxy floor paint. I am pretty sure it will last for a while.......I will be painting the front frame with it as well.

I'VE BEEN CONTEMPLATING BUILDING AN ALL GLASS TANK, YOU MAY HAVE CHANGED MY MIND, THAT REALLY LOOKS GREAT. DITTO ON SOLID WORKS BEING EXPENSIVE.

mannyhappy very cool project, love what you've done.

I'm sure it will be 10 times more rewarding to see your fish swim in a tank that you built yourself and it being made so cost effectively too, I'm really impressed.

I salute you amigo!

Scary pictures........of the test fill.....

I am very proud to report that there was absolutely no bowing. Apparently I underestimated wood/fiberglass construction. Check it out.
