Those finlets are amazing. You notice the head shape ? Almost bullet like. Narrow by the snout and thick like an endli towards the gills
Yeah I can't wait to see how things look once it acclimates a bit and has time for the nipped finlets to fill back in- I'm really impressed, Toyin has some great stock! Also curious to see how it will look once I can get it out of QT and onto some darker substrate :D

Looks great! Good to be part of the club- this lil guy isn't shy at all, keeps swimming up to the side of the tank when I'm around instead of staying sequestered in the corner. Hopefully that keeps up too!

Noticed this morning that the congicus' tailend is a little extra buoyant, I'm going to keep an eye on it. I did offer a little bit of tilapia last night which was eaten happily.

If the floating tail doesn't improve by the time I get home what do you guys think? Epsom soaked tilapia or a bath? Or just wait and see if time solves it?

Wait and see. It may pass. If it's butt is in the air and can't stay down then add some Epsom salt to ur tank or dip. Unless u have salt sensitive fish.

Nah it's in QT still- I tend to lean more on the "less is more" philosophy- i don't want to exacerbate an issue by prematurely treating a fish who may not actually need it. But if the floating butt symptoms persist a epsom dip should help clear it up?

Yea...it helps to get trapped air out. Usually it'll pass on its own.

Less is more for sure.

Salt won't hurt fish really much as long the fish aren't sensitive like loaches or knife fish.
