 Probably the smartest thing to do if a monitor that size got aholed of your hand and gave it a good shake your on your way to the hospital for a few dozen stitches

I want it!!!!!

That is one fantastic looking water monitor. No way I could resist trying to catch it...I've got more balls than brains LOL.

hah! i didn't know monitors ate turtles. I didn't have time to snap a pic, but i saw him this morning with a turtle in his mouth!

yeah, doubt he'd go through the trouble of going into someone's yard for a ball of hair. once someone does see him and express concern about their pets just remind them that there's 13' aligators around that pose much more of a threat than him. hes probably actually helping the environment in some way by filling a predatory niche of some animal evicted by humans long ago.
now that you know hes there, don't let anyone hurt him. hes a smart animal that poses no threat of reproducing and should be allowed to live a long and healthy life.

do not try to catch him!!! if somehow you were to manage to get close to him and get a hold of him he would do a hell of alot more than send you to go get stitches. his tail alone could send you away to get stitches.

Badass, i would be looking for it all the time.

I think this monitor is the least of a dog owners worry, seeing how there are much larger native threats in the water.
