It appears from your own experience sometimes a nip is more than a nip and it only takes one hit.
As for why GATF not being bred in captivity, for one thing, the fish is not for everyone, it is not even for 1% of the fish keepers out there. So frankly it makes zero economic sense to do it commercially for the trade when the price of wc already droped to the current level. Frankly the best chance for success would be having a home in the tropics and throw a dozen of these things in a large lake or pond instead of trying to do this in a tank.

a nip is diff from a bite your missing that, this was a bite.
i am only referencing gatf in this as one example of the many fish that are not captive bred. they all should start in a tank. whos to say i don't have a pond at my access to use for breeding projects of what ever i choose. just pointing out things that are possible, but not if no one tries to mix any.
