the thing is an eating machine, gonna start with frogs this spring, and will try some pinkies before long

And I guess what I'm asking is more about what big food are people feeding their aro's or the quantity..

Hikari pellets. Occasionally treat with frozen krill or frozen silversides, but not often.

I feed mine freeze dried krill, mealworms, crickets and frozen tiger prawns. Will be trying to get it on pellets soon but I want to increase tank member numbers to increase competition which will encourage it to feed on different souces. No mammalian meat as studies have shown that fish cannot digest it!

My black Aro gets primarily pinky mice, once in a while I'll put in crickets and Aro sticks. I think I'm going to start him on (peeled) market shrimp to save some cash on the pinkies.

Currently, I just feed mine hikari cichlid gold, but in the past I have fed it freeze dried shrimp, frozen shrimp, and frozen bloodworms. And a grape that wasn't really meant for him to eat.
