In the hobby you go through a lot of experiences that at the time you say "WHy did I do that, when I ould have done this" but for the most part they are all learning experiences and I wouldnt know the things I know without having gone through them...on that note th only thing I really regret is selling my colony of L046 - Zebra pleco's..(10 of them)..THis is back when you could get them at $30 a pop...what are they going for now $250-$300 ea??

my mudskipper. it was in my 45. I could'nt keep a steady brackish setup, i knew it would be this from the beggining. I guess i told myself it would be hardy enough to aclimate. I should have done 3-6 dwarf skippers in my ten. It probaby would have been easier on the smaller scale.
Then i spent $30 on a 10" neddle-nose gar. I idn't have problems with the gar. i loved it. It was transparent enough, that i could see the orange spot that was a goldfish in him after he swallowed it, and watch it work through his system. Then, i came home with a new batch of feeders, the day was irronically, friday the 13th, and i came up to the tank, it was dead in the fake plants. no torn fins, no bites, nothing. it was at the store for quite some time before i bought it, in a 30, doing great. the other fish in my tank were thriving. big chunk of change for me.
Then, this one was realy stupid. I was trying to breed convicts at the time, and it was my birthday or something, so my parents took me out to the fish store, and told me to pick something. there was nothing good, so i picked a great looking Melanochromis johanni. glowing electric blue, and midnight black. looked amazing. tore up the convicts. i took it back to the store and they traded it for a 8" pike cichlid. it keled over, because i could not keep up ith the feeders, or sucessfully switch it to prepaired food
