Ctenopomas are the best. They could take on the world if they wanted to, at least with their personality

Any characin will get my vote - pacu is probably at the top of that list. I had 3 years ago and have wanted to do it again ever since I had to rehome them. Banded leporinus will also always be a favorite of mine.

For me. It will always be the common goldfish.
First fish I ever owned, won it fair and square at a local carnival. They get big, have great personalities, and are able to tolerate a grade school kid who had know idea how to care for it.

I guess delhezi bichirs, fun to feed, lots of personality, like to live in groups.
I'm going with African cichlids (despite my username). Colorful, fun, and they never die for some reason.
I would like to remodel my 20 gallon for African, seems cool. If I love it, I’ll get a 75 or so
Guppies, Platys, Mollies, goldfish, blood parrots, loaches (striped and weather), chocolate cichlids and oscars. I like some catfishes and plecos depending on color and activity. Flowerhorns without the grapefruit heads and big guts. Starry night cichlids, honduran redpoints.

I love my Senegal bichir and my blood parrot. I also love Oscar’s and have always wanted an arowana
If you like senegals, try out some other types of bichir. (Delhezi is good for 75g)
maybe clown knife fish, or alligator gar, both are super cool but I dont have big enough aquariums/ponds for either one haha
