Your first large aquarium...

My first tank was a 15 gallon that I got in 1979. By 1984 my biggest tank was a 40-long, got my 6' 110G in 1989, and a 185 in 1990. It wasn't until 2005 or 2006 that I got a bigger tank, my 300.

Now I have (running) a 300, 210, 135, 125, 75, and a 65 hex. My house, barn, and garage are also full of empty tanks - a 15 hex, 20 Metaframe, 25, 29, 30, 30 hex, 3x 55s, my old 110, fiberglass 4x4x2, and probably others that I can't think of. Yes, I am a tank hoarder... :nilly:

My first "large" aquarium was a 75g that my girlfriend(now wife) bought me for $200 and came with tank, stand, and Eheim 2217.

From there I went to a 125, then got out of the hobby, and now I'm back with a 200g.

was the 75 new? If so you got an amazing deal. new 75s that some with a hood and light cost 230 dollars at my local petsmat.

I'm getting my first large tank next year. Probably 125, but i want to get as big as I can (obviously). There's a 225 for an awesome price right now but that's a bit too big for me at the moment. I'd love a 180.

My first big tank would probably be my 55 which I got complete for $100.

My first truly large tank is my 72x18x28 150 gallon. Excited doesn't quite describe how I felt about it. Especially since I had it sitting in a garage for four months before I got around to setting it up! I felt that I had to wait because I was getting ready to move and didn't want to set it up just to tear it down!

first i got a 55 in 2010 then a 120 this may and three weeks ago i got a 125. now im looking for a 210. you could say i have going quickly up the ladder and i still have all my tanks lol
I have been in the hobby for only about 2 years. I have nothing over 75 gallons. I might be getting a bigger tank soon though.

When my dad finally gave in and let me cobweb the 55 when i was like 12 and moved all my fish from my 10 gallon over.. including a breeding pair of angels.. how i managed that.. no clue.. but had it set up for many years... atm its down in storage waiting for our new house... and will be in our daughters room or the living room... biggest tank atm is our 120 wide. still seems so small...

My first big tank was a 75 gallon.many months Later on got a 90 free and had to do new trim on it. Had the 90 for a month or so and had a guy give me two tanks free. One being a 110 show tank only 48x18x31 that took over 90 after i sold it and the other one was a 240 tank stand and canopy 72x24x31!! Free!!!!!!
