your first tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well my family has had a fish tank since i was little and i remeber going to the fish store to pick fish out. But rite now im 15 and i stocked it myself with my own research the tank is a 30 gallon

When I was really little my parents had a nice big tank with around $1,000 worth of fish in it. I felt left out cause i didn't have a fish so my mom took me to petco and bought me a little $5 pleco. He must have been sick cause the next day all the fish were dead.

i had a two gallon with an airstone and it had two bala sharks and some neons there was no filtration i was like 4 or 5

My dad always had a tank around the house, I don't remember what he had in them.

I won a few goldfish at fairs and killed them in my ignorance between the ages of five and ten years old.

My first real effort was a well-equipped 10g with baby versions of *gasp*: Adonis pleco, tiretrack eel, three cory cats, a female betta, a madtom catfish and some others. That's when I sought education on the subject and learned that I was accidentally cycling the tank with these fish. I immediately upgraded and they lived for the time being. The Adonis eventually died of bloat and the eel jumped out and got stepped on, but now I've got a better record. My Raphael is four years old and I'm pretty proud of that. My giant otto is three and I'm even prouder of that, since they are supposed to be a little sensitive.
