Buccochromis lepturus, one my favorites, that’s a smallish one, they can get 16-18” in the wild and 12-14 in captivityWhat’s the last one? Beautiful fish.

Honestly, if you like those, this list of what you would like is much longer than you think. The only “mindless “ tetra type would be peacocks, but that’s really not accurate either. Malawis are different than SA/CA but the variety is just as great if not more sosecond and third are cool theres a VERY short list of cool cichlids from Malawi.
Malawi Trout, Hawk, Dolphin, barracuda, Venustus & star sapphire are the only ones id like to keep someday the rest are like mindless tetras
Nope, it does nothing for me and the last two look just about the exact same to me. I find there are two body shapes, the first pic I see the most followed by the last two.If these don’t change your mind, I guess nothing will

If we’re gonna cherry pick, I’ll just use mine ( excuse the debris, I’m in the middle of a WC) and add the other pics. The more blue ones are fully colored up males in full breeding dress, they usually look like mine with blue huesYou picked one that specifically had more red to make the difference stand out more. I can cherry pick also. View attachment 1512721View attachment 1512722
Fatten the kenyi up a bit and elongate the head just a little and it’s the same.
If you think it’s a venustus, you probably shouldn’t comment on this, it’s a placidochromis milomo, a venustus is a nimbochromis venustus. Completely different fishVenustus vs your pic. Just need to darken it up a bit and change the white on the dorsal fin to yellow, boom, twins.View attachment 1512729View attachment 1512730
Whatever that fish is, it’s incredibly similar to the one you posted. All I’m saying is a low of them look similar. I’m done derailing this thread though, sorry op.If you think it’s a venustus, you probably shouldn’t comment on this, it’s a placidochromis milomo, a venustus is a nimbochromis venustus.
