Hey guys! It's been a looooong while since I last logged in. Hasn't been shooting fishes for a while, was doing more spiders and dragonflies.
I kind of like this shot. It's not over-magnified and has a quiet background. I'd considered moving left to have the tail section in the DoF but then I will be giving up much of the face.
Beautiful pics all! I chose this one based on 'happy accident factors' more than anything else. The shot was taken when I was driving home from the ACA convention (yes, I occasionally drive a hearse). 100% coincidence that I pulled into a gas station in front of a graveyard. The rain and harsh flourescent lighting helped the mood even more.
This is my favourite shot, I don't think it's the best I have taken this year but I have chosen it for the following reasons;
I had to stitch together 4 photos and was really pleased with the result as I didn't use a tripod to retain constant height.
I love the location and this is one of those 'in the right place at the right time' shots.
My Dad passed away on May 25th/08. Needing some time to reflect after leaving his house, I ended up at the Detroit river and shot this photo.
I know he's at peace now and this photo will always remind me of this.

Heres my best shot. First shot posted here too. This is my son taken a few days after i got my D40. I just played around with my camera and my kids that day. Warm autoum day in the park.
The reason i like this picture, is because it shows my son from a different side than usual. Mostly hes real tough and loud. But that time he just sat at the root of a tree making all kinds of faces.
