What was your recent luck with field herping?

I have had good/bad luck recently I caught only two snakes in the past 2-3 weeks... One garter and to my excitement an Eastern Milk Snake (Lampropeltis Triangulum Triangulum(I believe). I also found an eastern box turtle, which are endangered I believe. I have also found a lot of salamanders. Unfortunately I live in NY and there isn't too wide of a variety of herps. I also plan on going into the Catskill Mtns for a few hikes because they have alot of snakes there and there has been alot of timber rattlesnake(Croatulus Horridus) sightings! I can't catch them for two reasons though 1. Illegal to touch or move them 2. Don't have any experience with Venemous snakes. That is it for my long story. What are yours?

I think the milksnakes count :D I only ever found one -_- pretty big too I will upload some pics of him eventually. I like painted turtles very common but it was the first reptile I caught.

I dont really catch I just observe. But I have seen CA kingsnakes, our local varient of gopher snake, Red Diamondbacks, Western Diamondbacks, Southern Pacific Rattlesnakes, Alligator Lizards, Western Fence lizards, some kind of local whiptail, and some kind of local horned Lizard in the past month while running in my local hills. I did handle the kingsnake, gopher snake and horned lizard just to move them off the trail...

I am jealous! We only have species of skink and not even in my area..I wish I lived more south..

And you live in brooklyn? Nice! Ever find any snakes?

It was in staten island
and I saw a snapping turtle, a redbacked salamander, and a water snake in the same place

all i've seen lately are watersnakes, and they are #@$%ing impossible to catch.

got a lot of humming birds.
seen some copper heads but i usually dont catch those unless there really cool looking. some northern water snakes, snappers, RES and the occasional map when im near kansas.
