your smallest fish ever

I love all these stories...usually fishermen lie to make their fish bigger, now Im willing to bet some of you are lying to make your fish smaller.

+1 for the whole snagging thing. The first post looks like a hiodontidae of some sort...commonly used as bait in some areas. If I didnt know better, I would say it looks like you just baited your hook. :D

I'm not sure who that comment was directed at, but in my case, the hook went into the mouth and out through the gill.

It was directed at the op and several other posters who said they snagged their smallest fish, not you.

1.5" minnow on a 1" Mepps Spinner! :screwy:

Caught it by the lips too! Left it on and a huge trout ate them both!

1" green sunfish. Caught him on a 7" plastic worm. He grabbed the tail and wouldn't let go, so i lifted him right out of the water and he let go on the bank. They're greedy little things.

How do you the worms O.o found one on a table :P

~3" channel catfish on baitholder hook with a nightcrawler. Feisty little bugger.

It is real finesse to convince a fish that size to bite a lure twice its size with hooks big enough to swim through without touching the sides. Released for the future of fishing to enjoy in the coming years. This may possibly be the smallest, the bravest of the fish I caught. You could have put one of these golden eggs of salmon with small hooks in the mouth..

1.5" bluegill. It had the most vibrant and beautiful coloring of all of the bluegill that i ever caught, but it was tiny.
