your tank setup, are you happy with it?

Good question! I am happy with my 150. Of course, its the one I focus on and spend the most on too. I have a 29 that turned out pretty cool too. The others, I want to do more, but just don't want to spend a bunch of money all at once...so they're all a work in progress. I focused on filtration, heat, etc and am very happy how I have that covered in all my tanks.

Most of my tanks and set ups were bought used. I got a few decorations with each purchase. I don't have any of the used items in main tanks...but the 55 is set up entirely of this hodge podge collection of used items lol. It looks OK though and the fish seem happy :)

Very interesting thread :P - I'm pretty content with my 75 gallon although it has some work to be done, i'm planning to get another AC110 and a T5 fixture for it and then I may or may not add some more live plants, haven't decided yet. Happy with the stock also unless I could find some kind of catfish that would be compatible with an oscar GT and hifin pleco (if anybody has a suggestion let me know)

Im very happy with my 45's setup, no plan to change anything stock wise or the aquascape, only change to be made is replacing an old filter made in the 1980s or early 90s with another AC50

Not really.

I'm very happy with my 40 atm.. and my smaller tanks. My 75 is the only one I'm not happy with.. it's to small. I really like the low maintenece live plants, and natural gravel look. a chunk of driftwood, or rock. low enough maintenece it's not more of a chore then a joy, but also enjoyable to my fish ( or so it seems)

im content with my decorations cuz my fish seem to enjoy them if i removed my driftwood i think my ropefish wouldnt know what do with himself.... however its the weirdest thing every time i look at my tank it shrinks a little but hopefully santa comes through and ill have more gallons than i know what to do with

my mom got some little africans for her 55 gallon and i made like a cave thing in the middle and i love it. usually i never like a tank the first time i decorate it. my 120 is my problem idk what im kind of decor im doing

I change my tank almost weekly. I am only happy with it for a few days and then I just want to change it again. Soooo frustrating.

I went through the same stage, in the end I always ended up cleaning the tank all over again.

I built an 600 gallon indoor pond for Pacu and I didn't like it. My mother who knew the dimensions of it before i built it, freaked out when she saw how much water it was. So I had to downsize. For now it's humane 4x3 foot but i'll basically have to get a new tank in a year cause they are like 7 inches now. (they love it!) all in all it costed as much as buying a 265-300g tank (ive seen some on craigslist, and am tortured by my lack of money). Pond makes pacu hard to to see since they are black and so is the liner :'(

At least I have a way to get a large tank into my mother's house now at some point, can compare it to the pond and say it's smaller than the original monster and the fish are easier to see...

Another thing i did that was a bad buy, was i bought a bunch of tahitian moon sand (like 100 lbs of it) and used it as substrate in all my tanks. Now I am keeping 1 tank barebottom and as soon as i get more buckets to keep the sand in i'm going to make them the rest bare bottom too. I HATE trying to vacuum sand. wtf.

Same here! I have a 15g with some sorta' cheap black sand i bought at $3/kg and i had about 12kg in it. I decided to use sand from the beach instead cos' i wanted to lighten up the color of the 15g. Took me god knows how long to remove all the sand. Had to haul the entire tank into the shower and use the showerhead to spray all the sand out. Haaaaaated it!
