I have a 10 gal tank and a 55 gal tank setup...in my 10 gal setup, I replaced the junk filter with an aquaclear 30 which cleans the tank to perfection. However I failed to put on a sponge filter over the intake tube as I never had a problem with it before, so after spending the whole day away from the apartment, our beloved betta fish was partially sucked into the tube. His fins were all shredded, he was bent out of whack, and all of his color was sucked right out of him.

I just knew that he wasn't going to make it through the night after I released him from the intake tube...he was breathing heavy and lifelessly floating on his side in the water.

Not buying an external filter sooner :P

I have a few. when I used to work (I'm a housewife now) I went in to work and there was a fat cute little catfish in the bottom of a holding tank I reached in and was lifting it up a little and found out very quickly it was a electric catfish that was a while back my first job. lol I've exploded 3 heaters. almost caught a power strip on fire from water dripping down a protein skimmer. at work put a 10" orange toadfish in with a 4" clown trigger the next day alls that was left was the toadfishes head. I got a harlequin tuskfish and asked if they jumped the person told me no, 8 days later after the 7 day grantee I found him dead on the floor he was 300.00 I called them and they met me half way on another. doing water changes and flooding work and home and one time I drained to much water from my 125 the hose slid down and only had 2" of water left I have a pic my eel Nessie was not happy
