of all the different types of Zaire frontosa, Moba,Tembwe,Kalumba,Kapamba, etc.,which ones have the more of the deep blue?
does it make a difference or are they all just classified as blue Zaires? I googled some pictures of the fronts but they all vary. Thanks

I agree that Moba are often described as the most intense blue. I have not kept any zaire so i cant give any personal info on them. I have also noticed that several other variants also have a very dark blue and crisp stripes such as mikula etc.. Keep in mind the lighting and also substrate and background the owner uses on their tanks can make a big difference in how blue the fish appear. I have burundi and a tanz. (mpimbwe) fronts in the same tank, i can easily see a much more intense blue in the dorsals of the mpimbwe. They practically glow compared to my burundi which are more blue than most i have seen.

id go with mobas! they got the deepest blues but ur gonna pay at least $30 per juvenile!

i wish....everything here is expensive try $70 for a 1.5' moba,$85 for a 1.5' kitumba $30 for a 1.5' mpimbwe
thank you all your replies. I was just wondering because, even though both the moba and the tembwe was in stock, I just picked up some tembwes instead of the mobas because the seller said according to what he raised, the congo types had more blue in the head and back as they matured, but as juveniles, there wouldn't be any noticeable difference.

I currently Keep Kitumba and Moba. If you are looking for alot of blue the Moba are the best. If you want a better black/white/lavender contrast then the Kitumba are the way to go.

Personally my favorite is Kitumba.

I agree with that, the Kitumba male looks a lot nicer than the moba. Of course it may just be my preference.

The best looking group of fronts I ever saw was a group of wild caught kapampas, great purplish color!
Ill agree the mobas are usually the most blue.
