Zebra Obliquidens & Kenyi Hybrid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I know that others eat the eggs when they are being dropped, but the females do hold quite a few. There is no way I could keep this from happening with the large number of fish in my 90. Whatever happens happens. You are correct for sure though that the females should have more eggs....although they are still pretty small too. I guess it is a combo. Will keep you updated!

Great Chris, I do hope you get them going. You know on CARES, there are two levels of classification for this species? ICUN has them listed as vulnerable, and Dr. Loiselle currently has this species listed as At Risk. Either way, even at risk, people keeping this species are doing it a favor. It's good to know you're breeding up a group and keeping the species going also! Maybe down the road, as my females mature, you want to trade up females and mix up our lines?

That would probably be a good idea. I would imagine in a year or so my females would be mature. Where do you get all this info on CARES, ICUN, and Dr. Loiselle? Please let me know when you get the chance!

Stripped 3 females tonight - one ate em all, another had 2 fry and about 20 fungus balls, and the other larger female had 22 beautiful guys! Still have 6 females holding. There are a couple larger females also, so I am hoping they will have a mouthful! Will let you know when I strip them!
