They are like any pleco and easy to care for and I've kept them with a number of community fish, discus, geophagus, angels, and even frontosa, some Central Americans, desert gobies, and so on. I've kept them from 76-88 degrees in hard and soft water, and they eat everything I throw in as long as it has a high protein content. High dissolved oxygen levels are important, especially at higher temps.
They are very adaptable and very hardy. The only difficult part was getting them to breed. Good luck!
