Pike cichlid is gonna pike cichlid. That's what they are good at.

Is it possible he at a 7 inch fire eel today..? 99% sure he’s not in here and even looked in the room

The pike could have done it, or it's equally possible that the Fire Eel is in the gravel/ sand, up an intake tube for a filter, who knows. They can be pretty cryptic and vanish and re-appear when they feel like it.
