Zilch's Fish-Kids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's a full African tank so none of these little Asian fish :p

It's a pain to find something larger :(

That's good! Though more veggie loving I think it's mostly algae that they would eat?

Yeah looking at their mouth it's more of a sucker so I'd say they're more of a rasping type of fish. Don't Tell them that though haha

You never know! Maybe interest will die down. I'm almost regretting not getting a second, but I've got the CBB growing so that'll have to do :)

So I did some redecoration of the tank. Had some rocks that I had used in a prior tank, and figured I'd use some of the extra hornwort I had sitting around in a livebearer tank to spruce things up a bit. So far the polys seem to appreciate the extra decor!

My daughter also went on a naming spree:
PBB is now named: "Tongue-Tongue"
Big ornate: "Crumb"
Albino Senegal: "Tuna"
Gar: "Stick-Fish"
And my two larger ropes from the growout: "Frick and Frack"

Lol at the naming spree. I really like Crumb. Very Appropriate for the ornate with a belly. Tuna is cute too. Also like how the wife wanted the rocks rearranged. Love how you got a family thing going with the tank!

Hornwort looks awesome! The green contrasts with the red quote nicely. Glad the polys are digging it too.

COOKIE FISH and stick fish photobomb! Yessss! The camera loves them ahahaha

Thats a big MAYBE, alot of OG in MFK looking or teying to reach toyin for PBB, and you know most people dont buy just one PBB.:)

I was surprised the little ornate wasn't "Crumb", since the big one is more like a whole slice, ya know? If the ornate ever left a crumb she may not be so chunky :) I wasn't going to argue that point with a 2 1/2 year old though! When you've got a hobby this all-encompassing you really need to get the whole family on board... besides there's something adorable about a 2 year old getting all excited about Mickey being in the tank!

It's funny, their behavior has already changed since I added the rocks and plants... I see a lot more polys laying at the glass in the front of the tank... I have no idea what that is, maybe because there's more open space near the front? Maybe they feel more secure because the rocks represent a hiding spot? No idea, but it's cool!

True... but does that mean I have more or less self control than the average MFKer? lol I think the poly forum in general already has less self control than the other boards :)
