This is probably not okay. If it says 175, you should be using a 175.

If you did have a way to get a 250w fixture, I would trade you for a 150w fixture...but I really need two. I would give you two 150's in return however.

I think that tank's gonna fry.

Hmm 10g? For some reason I thought this thread was for a 30g.

175w is a lot of light man...sorry for being confused thus far.

I would recommend possibly a 75w MH for a tank this size.

Heat will be hard to dissipate without a sump and/or a chiller and the light will be increadibly intense. We are talking growing SPS only most likely. Not a beginner friendly scenario.

Now Im lost. I have now set the 175wat 20k mh at 11in and the tank's temp is steadly at 81 degrees. And my zoas which are on the top of my rocks are doing great.

For now...

FLESHY, that's what I've been saying!

Okay so what do I do then?? I have the 175watt mh 20k at 11inches high with the temp at 80-81. And my coral and nem look great and their both on the top. I know I dont have a chiller but I will be buying a x2fan that clamps onto the tank to lower down temp so that I can drop the mh a little lower.

So what do you guys suggest I do??

I think we've already told you several times. Get a much smaller wt light, like a Viper 70.
