There you go. Cut that out and you might feel better. I did.
Job pays the bills, have no wife no other income but mine, everything is on me. Family and friends rely on me, pets rely on me, my work and customers as well, and unless I want to loose all Ive gained, which isnt much, then I cant cut anymore out than I already have. Believe me, I try. I know what you mean, but only I know my lifestyle and why its how it is, so dont make it sound so easy for others.

i agree but not fully. pills should be a last thing, but my major depression comes from my ptsd from combat. im not week bc when i came home i couldnt haddle crowds or loud noices, military forced us to get on meds if we got help for ptsd. what is true is family friends an good healthy hobbys can help with this. my fish keeping an my green house keep mine at bay. i still have my days. when things trigger me. but u take it day my day. the pills they put us troops on is what made me vow to never take a med for depression or anxiety ever again. there are things one can do with out takeing pills. lets not forget tho, there are diffrent levels of depression anxiety, all can be over come with out meds. but if u feel u might hurt urself or others or its that bad, then take the meds tell u can figure things out. but the goal is to get off them, not use them the rest of your life. i have been in the ward after the war with vets that died bc there ptsd anxiety was so great, have learn alot about both these evils, an if u let it get to great it will eat u alive.

when i was on ,meds i was a zombie. ya i wasnt sad or nervous. but i wasnt really happy either, i was blaaa. it does nothing good for ur body an side effects are to great to stay on them for long periods of time. when u come off of some of these crazy pills they have these day u prob will need to detox, wasnt easy for me to get off. do what u need to do, but these days u cant take doctors word for it. do ur own research ask ? its ur health, same with vacinations. dont just take them ask an do research it goes in ur body. seems today they all want us to be zombies, add everyday on tv. its sad

Very well put, USMCtanker. Thank you for your service too.

I've found the ptsd and anxiety to go hand in hand, but often (for me)the ptsd is worse, because my ptsd fears can become delusional. I fear being caught in situations that will likely not happen again.

I self medicate myself including herbals and tobaccos. Trust me, I know that racing heart, racing mind, feel like your going to throw up when those situations present themselves. Its your bodies alarm system of present danger. Its the same feeling 5 seconds before a car accident. Believe me Ive been there, In my line of work stress is ever present. Im self employed, Freelance fine artist/ designer. Ive actually knocked myself unconscious from punching myself in the head from frustration, Some people have trouble dealing with difficult emotions. Its a lot more present in todays society in the younger generation with the crazy materialistic world we grew up in, and parents being laid back hippies. I dont know what contributes to your problems, But we all have things in our past that effect us today whether we are aware of them or if the are underlying. If nothing you do seems to help, consult a physician, or physcologist first. Try meditation, Try dedicating 30minutes each day to worry about your problems, But the the most beneifial thing you can do is confront the issues that made you feel anxious in the past. Put your self there, Prepare beforhand, Dive into it with so much confidence your couldnt possibly fail. Its not going to hurt you, Meds will. If your happy with who you are, what your doing, Where you are in life, then the answers to your problems arent that deep. Its a very personal situation, but you just have to make steps in the right direction. You have to find a way to cope with the problems life throws at you. Saying its all in your head without extinguishing every possible solution is the cowards way out. Everybody is made equal and dont let anything in this crazy world make you think otherwise. Listen to me being all physiatric. I hope you find what it is your looking for.

If you straight up have a physical anxiety disorder, just as ppl have migraines, dizzy spells, hemorrhoids, or whatever,,,,,anxiety is not always able to be controlled in the head.

Not true. anxiety is in a different realm then the other problems you mentioned. It is ALL mental. Your mind is freaking out for a reason. Past problems, current problems. I used to have horrible anxiety problems too. I also tried Lexapro just like you. I failed two years of school just from my anxiety attacks. It controlled my life. So I tried everything under the sun. Didnt completely erase it, plus it all came with side effects. So I went to therapy, talked out my problems, faced all that was wrong in my life, before and current, started exercising, eating healthy, and really facing it head strong. It is possible to overcome anxiety. But if you think you're too weak to do it yourself and want to take medication that is actually advertised on TV...(they just want your money), go right ahead.

The acid reflux though, definitely take meds. But (if you're not), try exercising and eating right. See if that helps with it.

Dont take any medication you see advertised on tv. Those are the meds that are made and pushed on you so that they can make money, not help people.
If you really need help, and have to take a med, you should take Paxil. Trust me and look it up.

What Im trying to freaking say is that Im not anxious about anything. Its only for some reason hitting my body and not my brain. I could sit back and read a book while getting a massage and sippin scotch, for some reason my body makes its own rules now days, now, comparing the pressures of work and life, it dosnt matter if Im on a vacation on the beach, or in an important meeting, same crap in my body. SOmetimes more, sometimes less. I can relax my mind to the point I could have a staring contest with a tree, I used to train ppl at the gym and still work out all the time along with many sports, eat great and take vitamins. Sometimes, you just need the extra help. I never felt like a zombie at all on lexapro. Felt normal, just no anxiety, more energy and not as irritable, slept great, good sex. Im not taking zoloft now by the way.

So, ppl here believe that their is no such thing as a chemical imbalance whether lacking or not enough something in the brain.?

and camcrap ram rod Im so sick of your avatar lmao. Everyone you ever had lol. Hate you.lol

I'd have to disagree with most of what said as far as non medicated treatment for anxiety and depression. Some can sure. I know for me the one doc put me on all sorts of **** anxiety depression and elevated BP. Nothing worked. Until the situation changed nothing helped. Got tired of the meds stopped taking them got out of the situation all is good. Got over it as many here did. However this may not work for everyone since in neurochemisty and neurobiology one symptom has multiple causes and one cause can present with multiple varied symptoms. I got involved with med imaging on an FMRI as an undergrad.

If the meds you are on work then find a way to cover them. Doc spend years with some patients trying to find the right meds. As long as you don't start having to up the dose.

What most of the guys describe for their "getting over it" is called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Which has been proven successful for anxiety. On a therapy note do you really want to surround yourself with pictures of **** you can't have, ie your avatar. You have pointed out many times here about you problems with the fairer sex. That just comes off as rubbing salt in the wound given the anxiety you appear to feel around the topic.

If you can go off the meds great and that would be a great end result to work towards. I've found that someone who can't isn't weak, stupid or lazy just different.

If I ever change my avatar, it will only be for the worse :D. Sorry Jason.

I know you say you have physical anxiety, but that's just anxiety. It's in yo brains.
Just because you arent freaking out in your head at the time, doesnt mean it's a physical problem. Anxiety attacks can happen out of the blue for no reason. Someone could even start talking about it, and you could start having one. Kinda like yawning. You got a problem in there somewhere dude. Dig deep. It might come off seeming like a physical problem, but it's the brain that makes that happen.

If you truly do think it's a physical ailment and not mental, then stop calling it anxiety, because that's not what it is then.

I actually work in healthcare and manage mental health and substance abuse patients. Wellbutrin gets mixed reviews and personally there are way better meds with less harmful side affects. PM me if you have any questions if you want.
