I took it daily for 3 years. It did its job for me. I had no side effects. It was just subtle enough to work, without really showing it to the outside world. I stopped just because I no longer needed it. Over the course of 6 months my perspective was changed about a lot of things and I no longer needed it.

I take amitriptyline for migraines. Anxiety and depression never drove me to take the meds. I have always been the type to try and fix things with positive thinking.

With that said, I started taking a mild antidepressant called amitriptyline to see if it would help with my severely disabling migraines. I had no idea the drug was used as an antidepressant until very recently. After a few nights of taking them, I felt completely different. At first, I felt zombie-like and lost my desire to have sex, but my headaches were gone for the most part.. I also noticed more positive side effects. My digestive system is regular for the first time in years. I did have some issues before taking the medicine with keeping my attention on someone while having a conversation, but that has subsided since I started taking it. I'm still just as analytical as I ever was, but I can focus and tend to things so much better. I am also much more logical when a confrontation arises.

I don't know if meds are for everyone, but this med helped me when I didn't even know it could.

I took that one for my migraines for about 2 months. I wish my experience was that good. That stuff made me so depressed I couldn't stand it. But everyones body is different. Glad it worked for you!

Lots of opinions here. None of them educated. Talk to your doctor.

Really dude? Way to insult everyone. The OP wasn't asking for medical advice but our experience with it. Major difference, the OP can't get it without talking to a doc so its a given that the OP will be talking to one.....

hahaha, well, some of the posts were opinions when you were talking about the cause and how to cure them but i'd say your personal experience is anything goes. Thanks for the laughs fishbum
