Actualy its the oposite Size determines sexual maturity, not age. Thats why you see from time to time poor 7 cm long female sliders of like 15 years old that were so neglected regarding espace, food,etc, that they never mature and never lay eggs, wille a very well cared for 2 year old slider can be over 7 long and only a few more from reaching maturity, and continuing to grow untill she is like 6, reaching like 11 inch and more then 2 kg

He is a bit yea but dont worry he is still very young, he will make up for the missing time Even neglected stunted turtles many years old can have litle growth spurts when placed in suitable condicions, but of corse they will always be in the undersize
