zuchinni

Try again with a new piece. I usually bend an old teaspoon and pierce the zuchini with it or you can squeeze the zuchini inbetween the bent spoon to weigh it down. Ruberband to a rock also works, but many people report of the plecos getting injured by the rubberband or accidentalyl eating of it.

I would avoid the rubberbands as well. Just stick a fork in it or a food clip works.

well, i think it might have eaten the zuchinni. i didnt see it eat it, but the middle (white part) of the zuchinni is clearly eaten up. could it have been anything else? ie. cories, guppies, angel?

just give it time... my pleco wouldnt touch veggies when i first started giving them to him.. then he figured out that it was food.. now he loves just about everything.. i think red grapes are his fav

Ok, I've heard a few times in this thread about either "sticking a fork in it" or "weigh it down with a fork", are we talking about your everyday metal dinner fork? Do you really just stab it with a fork, and drop it in your tank? I don't have a feeding clip and I'm wondering if I can get by without one.

Everyday stainless steel fork or butter knife works too?

Yup, a normal stainless steel table fork works fine. Just poke a slice of vege on the end and let it sink

If they have chewed the middle out then they have found it. Some species start on the soft middle, other like the firm skin part best.

Mix up the veges a bit and see what they like best. Mine go crazy for mushroom.

Some have preferences with veggies... and also if your only just start trying to feed them it, and have been feeding them either dry foods or meaty foods then chances are they will prefer that stuff so it might take them a while to "force" them onto something healthy.

KEN,my giant gourami won't let any food get by him,he will eat anything i put in the tank and wont let the zucc get by him.or if it does he will eat it off the bottom.I used to feed him grapes, carrots, green beans ect.but i had to stop cause if he didn't get it it would mold and that caused a massive fungus on my gg that took weeks and lots of pimafix.to get rid of so i'm very leary about putting anything out of the ordinary in his tank.any other suggestions????
