I would probably do Oscars, maybe an eel thrown in, but basically working around Oscars.

You can't go wrong with Oscars! There are many more beautiful kinds than the typical LFS varieties. Wetspot has Crassipinnis Os right now that only get 8-10 inches, and are gorgeous! I LOVE mine!! If it were me I'd do them, with some Orange Spot Acaras, some kind of eartheater (Steiny, and Satanaperca sp are my faves, though Guinacara, and more traditional Geos like Redheads are also nice), and top it off with some Festivum for the top and Pictus catfish for the bottom.

I would do an oscar, 6 wide bar silver dollars, 5 clown loach, and borneo python eel, a nice pleco and a ornate pimlodus catfish. Would make a nice mix of species and keep the tank interesting! -)

I also have a Rapp's Bumblebee Oscar like jaws7777. Awesome fish for sure! But my recommendation is not an Oscar but a Pearsei. They are big fish with great personalities and get along very well in a community with smaller fishes.
