I've heard of three 1" cons in a tank with a 2 foot tiger shovelnose. The cons chewed on his side, almost killed him, they went 3/4" in.

bad news...i got my 30 gallon outta the garage and started setting it up when it started leaking.....so i talked my wife into getting another tank but she only agreed to a 20g long....and now she wants to make it into a peaceful community tank for my daughter...i have talked her into using mollies so i can still maybe get some feeders outta this deal....
the butti and dovii stopped fighting also so i am going to leave them in the 75 together and hope they both make it until next spring when i get a much larger tank.

I breed cons to feed for my angels. I also bury them into the gravel. Having 5 clown loaches, they sniff the fry out fast. Gobble 'em up real quick.
well tomorrow i am getting some mollies and going that route i guess....and yes it sucks when my wife holds me back...but if it was up to me i would have tanks in every corner of my house haha
I have fed some very small fry to African cichlids, a small red devil, but my Oscar won't eat them at any size.
