See my signature for my tanks!
473 liter with 6
clown loaches, 9
Colombian pictus catfish, and 9 smallscale archerfish. Plan to upgrade to a custom 671 liter of 2.42m x 77cm x 36cm, in which case 6 horseface loaches and 1 pink tail chalceus will be added.
110 liter
planted tank (
got it for free off Reddit!) with 10
green neon tetras, 20 cardinal tetras, and 11
dwarf chain loaches. Will be upgraded to a 125 liter long if the silicone starts to wear out, in which case 8 more dwarf chain loaches will be added.
473 liter Asian/Indo-Malayan biotope with 9 roseline sharks, 24 black kuhli loaches, and 24 striped kuhli loaches (in quarantine). Planned to have 6 yoyo loaches, 6 zebra loaches, 6 Burmese loaches, and 12 Odessa barbs as well.
All tanks shall remain permanently bichir-and-cichlid-free, period. No exceptions.
This blacklist of said bichirs and cichlids (being the nasty, ugly, vile a**holes they are, especially American cichlids,
especially oscars) prevents them from devouring innocent loaches and catfish (especially sacred clown loaches and pictus catfish), as well as innocent general community fish (both scenarios are
far too often reported on MonsterFishKeepers).
Plus, by keeping my tanks free of those loathsome fish, I can take in rescue Siamese fighting fish. There are
far more Siamese fighting fish in need of rescue than there are bichirs and cichlids, and so my tank space is unquestionably far better used on rescuing the Siamese fighters.
On a positive note, there are at least 3 red tail catfish plus an ornate pictus catfish that have avenged the innocent clown loaches, pictus catfish, and general community fish by doing to the oscars and bichirs what the oscars and bichirs did to them! 4 oscars (

3) and 3 bichirs (
