You guys were right. The Goby is the culprit. I finally caught him in the act. I placed a small clownknife in there, that a buddy was getting rid of (already have a grown 14 inch clownknife in there). I came back 15 minutes later and I see the small guys tail hanging out of the cave. I look close and the other half of his body is in the Goby's mouth, who is trying to devour him whole.
I just set up a 400 Gallon just for my africans and smaller varieties because almost all of my africans vanished from that tank.
This is going to be a real pain in the ass to get him out. That tank is a beast and the fact it's 4 feet high makes it very tough. The only thing I can think of is actually draining the water to half, until only two feet of water is in there. and even then its going to be tough but at least easier to get the rocks out and/or move them around.
