why would you ask for an ID, then tell 2 of the most knowledgeable gar people here "no theyre wrong" -thats what I consider "unacceptable behavior"- maybe just a thank you next time

we wont!:D lol
I should be nicer at times. It just annoyed me when u told people who gave u the correct ID that they were wrong. While that trop does look similar it cleary is different(of course iv been really working on IDin skills, still not great). We do have stickys for this perpose though. Good to see another gar keeper on here that can raise a gator to a good size :)
He is a very nice gator, looks very healthy and well fed without being over fed.

Nice too meet you guys !

when i saw this fish my first tought was : " man , it is a gator gar ! " ... but the fish have at least 6 years , maybe a bit small to a gator gar and here in Brazil we have an national agency called IBAMA and they dont permit import this fish
besides , i saw at least a hundred gator gar pics and i was in doubt yet
i have gars since 2000 but never saw a gator before :D ( but you never saw a leucistic SAL :naughty:)
but i agree with you , it is a gator gar

about crocodiles , i m thinging if is possible a hibrid between a tropical and a florida

that would likely look like a tropical gar with a slightly longer snout...
