owner claimed 2 ft cuban? really light for a cuban.....

well if it is xanthic (which this fish is) then the pattern is dominated by the genetic abnormality, not what the "normal" pattern would be (xanthic any gar would be that gold color, perhaps with minimal splotching).

hard to tell from this angle, it COULD be a Cuban, i'd say definitely Atractosteus, but a shot of the head or profile would go a long way. interesting fish for sure though--
