Ill say, for me at least, a lot of what makes dats interesting is getting the right set-up and fish to get them stable and happy. My dats are the focus of my tank. My spotted silver dollars are for dithers, my frontosa I used for pellet training, and my poly is there to get a fish underneath them. Having other fish swimming around makes them more comfortable. Also I have found that they are more stable while hungry, So I feed mine at night right before I turn the lights off. That way when i wake up and turn the lights on they are hungry, and out begging for food all day.
