Kenyi x5 with Red Zebra x5?

55 gallon tank with 5 (one male) Kenyi and 6 (one male) Red Zebra? TONS of Texas Holey rock cichlid stones and what not for hiding places? Yes? No?

55 gallon tank with 6 (one male) Pseudotropheus saulosi and 6 (one male) Red Zebra ?

Personaly I would go with the Saulosi and red zebras. I have had Kenyi and Red zebras breed, not pretty babies. Its your choice.

What about Just Kenyi then? I can't find Salousi here in town anywhere but there were three places that carried Kenyi. I really like them. Can I do just Kenyi in the 55?

Btw how old/ what size are they when they reach sexual maturity?

Mine started breeding around 3 - 4" and year and half. You may want to get another male ( sub dominant).

I read that the dominant male does not tolerate any other males in his territory and that any sub dominant males would be killed.

Just go with one male. Unless you have like 10 females, you could do 2 males.

I thinkten females would overstocked a fifty five anyway... Or they quickly would when spawning. Should I remove a holding female? Or leave her in the tank? Never owned mouthbrooders before...

That's really personal preference, are you breeding to keep the babies? Or are you just gonna let nature take its course in the tank?

The old mantra is to overstock African Cichlids, so long as your filter is up to the task, you should be fine with 12 Kennyis in the tank, provided it is 2.10.
