How do I kill fish in a Humane way?

the quickest way is not to freeze them that take's some time and the fish suffer's
'' LINN SEED OIL '' if I 'm correct will knock the fish out.. puffer keeper's use it so they can trimm the puffer's beck... overdose the fish and then freeze to presurve until you decide to burry the fish..
that right there is no differant the bringing your dog to the vet to be put to sleep!!....
pay no mind to the fool's who made foolish reply's about this topic , this topic should be taken seriously not mocked .. anything else fine but when a person has to put down his fish no way is it a joking matter...

All you people recomending slamming the fish to death or chopping its head off or freezing it have to be insane. Clove oil is clearly the only humane way, what the hell is wrong with some of you? And your supposed to be fish enthusiasts?
Im surprised no one has mentioned this one.
Take container(ice cream container, whatever is large enough for the fish) and place water in it then into the freezer.
Once a thin layer of ice forms on top of the water, take out, crack ice off and then place the fish in it, its almost instaneous death as the water is getting close to freezing point, which will knock the fish out straight away.
Alot better then putting your fish in the freezer to slowly die....
