  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Uhh Ohh. Seems they arent selling it anymore. Guess we hit them too hard. The guy actualy commented when I called on Thursday that after my order they got slammed with orders for this.

Congrats to those who acted quickly! Best deal going.

what would suggest would be the smallest tank size you could put one of these bad boys on. My LFS said you need at least 100gal tank.

depends on what you are housing??? hence your bioload...

Do they have any distributor here in the Philippines? Do they have 220v to 240v as power?

I really want to have one for my 210 gal tank. Influenced by reading this thread with all the positive feedbacks.

Dont want to derail this too much, but I now have 3. I only need 2. If someone wants this third one LMK and you cover what I paid + shipping and PayPal fees. PM me. BTW I paid $210 so add shipping and then 3%.

Thanks,
Chris

Yeah that's ridiculous, no such thing as minimum tank size for a filter. If you wanted to you could have a 75 gallon sump on a 20 gallon tank, with a faster flow rate than an FX5.

The LFS might be referring to the output of the waterflow for the FX5. It is pretty strong. Someone with a 60 gallon was using one, and the waterflow output is splashing against the glass, therefore the "guesstimate" 100gallon. I think a 24" wide tank, and possibly a 6ft lenght, would be ideal for the FX5. I just bought two of these, and the setup consists of 7 steps. The tubing is not pre-cut. The adaptive valves are initially too tight. When I was turning it, it felt flimsy I thought I was gonna break it. This is the second day it is up and running. If I find anything else, I would post it here.

The valves will loosen up once you use them. You will be using them to close off the water siphon in to the canister for water changes and such. What size tank since you are using two i would assume?
