Okay so I went and bought some silicone, and a storage tote from home depot. I have a question about the storage tote though. I have a peacock eel and a BGK along with my other fish. Should I take some rocks out of my 55g and put them in the tote for my eel to hide in, and should I take the deco from my 55 and put it in there too so fish and my BGK have a place to hide? Heres some pics of the leak and the storage container.

I would not worry about all of that. I would only be concerned with what I need to do so I can reseal that tank as quick as possible so I can return my fish to the tank. You are only going to housing them a the tote for 2 days max.

I would honestly pick up a new 55. Tank only shouldn't cost much. The big chains have the $1 per gallon sales occasionally too. But good luck on the reseal!

If it's leaking from the top by the trim, just lower your water level. I couldn't tell from the pics.

It takes a couple hours to clean and reseal a 55, that and 2 tubes of GE silicone 1 and a bottle of denatured alcohol

ahem... you know that aquarium specific silicone, its about 5$ more than GE 1... Its the same stuff. All your going to need is a razor scraper, and GE1 trace your finger on your bread, in and out, no need to buy a new tank, the only wait time is the cure time.

yeah Im going to start doing it now, I just dont trust my convicts cuz my male goes after my BGK and I figured if there were some things for them to hide in itd make it less stressful on them
