Gosh Im a beast! First time sealing a tank, and its holding great! I did a test fill yesterday, and later today im going to take it back up and set it up which is going to be long using bucket....
Dont use playsand. I have quikrete sand and hated it. I'm going to try tahitian moon sand and if its like the quikrete, I'm going back to gravel. Congrats on the reseal! Hope it holds for many more years
okay so I have it all setup, and put one of my spare filters that i dont care about on it to see if it'll clear it up, because its still super cloudy and I filled it up yesterday at like 4 oclock... any suggestions to clear up the water?

well it didnt do this on my 150g and i didnt even rinse it then... and im not dumping 50 gallons of water, i hate how you people are with just dumping water out it makes me sick..
Why are people so against quickrete play sand? I have it in one of my tanks now and used it in the past, never had a problem with it. If you rinse it a few times prior to adding it to your tank there will be minimal clouding. And then you never have a clouding problem again. Also the sand gets compacted enough to the point you don't have to worry about it getting into your filters or sucked up while you do gravel vacs. I have used this sand for a long time and noticed no ill-effects to my fish or tanks. So I really don't understand peoples' problem with it.
