Damn that looking great Jeff. I always loved those Argenteas you had and the male Maculicauda is looking great! Wheres the female?
Damn I really want an Argentea now
She is hiding in that damn rock on the left, it is hollow with an entrance in the back. He needs a bigger female that just wants to breed all the time.
The argentea are definitely lookers but I'm not crazy about them to be honest. They don't have the best personalities and just want to kill each other all the time. From what I've kept, Vieja is one of my favorite genuses of fish looks wise, but personality wise they don't really do it for me as much as some others. I really like the cutteri I'm this tank, they're a lot of fun, and freddys are too.
If you REALLY still want a male down the line I'll see what I can do, obviously I can't keep 5. I'm sure you could order one as well with decent size on it, but I haven't seen many pictures of fish as nice as I think mine will turn out as adults. I have been seriously caring for them like my own children (if they had gills and lived in a glass box in my living room...).
I can't believe that tank is only 125 gallons it looks much larger. Stunning setup and stock list. Now I really want to get that background. Does it take a lot from the width of the tank? And that cuban pair is just stunning!
It looks bigger in pictures I guess. Honestly for big CAs it takes up more room than I would like. I would recommend one of the designs by nature slimline backgrounds, which I have in my 90 and takes up a maximum of 1" of width. It is also much more time consuming to install one of these bigger ones, where with the slimline I installed it in a couple hours by myself.
Cuban pair are my favorite fish in the house. They're from Cavamart, his old breeding pair, so I can't take any credit for them. If anyone wants some fry from them let me know, I have about 75 or so, I can do a cheap MFK deal and ship em.
