Is this a Jaguar Dovii hybrid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes they have been in the hobby for some time now if remember correctly aquamojo was the one the first ones with them.check for some of his photos of his Honduran mal managuense absoultely stunning!

It def looks like it has the body of a managuensis and the fins of a dovii. I don't know how anybody can see motoguensis in that fish.

Someone mentioned asking the owner exactly what his fish was. That's why I made that statement. I wasn't sure if someone contacted the guy or not.

I think Mo made a similar point - odds are the owner is just as clueless, even if he states "most def, its a ......." No certainty unless he obtained it from a reputable source, and even then....who knows?

Its a wonderful looking fish - I'm glad the OP posted the link. The keeper of it needs to get educated as to the risks of feeding goldfish. If someone asks about the fish, maybe they can ask why he's feeding it goldfish. Will it take other foods?

Maybe the owner does not know, however maybe he can give us some sort of story behind it?? Maybe he can tell us where he got it?? I agree that it is a wonderful looking Jaguar and that it should not be eating goldfish. Why take the risk??
