You won't want to hear this, but it's probably because of their cramped quarters. Your convicts aren't exactly small and they are in a 5 gallon. Ideally, you should times that by 6. It's kinda like expecting a human couple to raise a family in a loft.

im moving soon and they will have the 10 gallon for their selves

Well a 10 gallon isn't much better. I personally have a 20, and mine are smaller then yours. It's fine for now, but I'll have to upgrade when they get bigger. But you probably won't see "normal" spawning activity until they are housed in something more suitable, then they will feel comfortable enough to let nature take its course.

Ok, today i came home and half of the eggs are gone and some hatched ant they are free swimming

Congrats Convict Cichlid! Any thoughts on what you are going to do with all the fry?

i will keep they first batch of fry and try to get them a 29 gallon grow out tank

Hey, my pink cons just laid eggs again the other day. I still have around 150-175 fry that are being raised in the 5.5 gallon and the air is in a 5.5, GL with yours Convict Cichlids!
