Stocking a 300g 8Lx24Wx30H

I need some ideas for stocking my new 300g. The only must in the tank are a pair of jd's and a couple ornatum that I already have. Oh and maybe a rtc till he gets like 10"-12"

My only ideas... veija synspilum, jardini.. geos ?
 
You can't have jardini in FLA
 
I wouldnt bother doing a RTC and then getting rid of it at 12". You will barely have the thing before you have to get rid of it. Try a smaller type cat like a 4 Line Pim. They get 8-10" and you could keep it for life in that tank. As for cichlids some that I like and am looking at for my 210g are a pearsei or bocourti. Both considered more gentle giants. And my dream fish an Argentea. The 24" width of the tank will get the arrow lovers out there mad at you, most recommend a 30" or wider.

I agree with Peathenster... I wouldn't stock any Geo's in the tank with the species you are planning. You do have a ton of options just keep them sturdy and slightly aggressive in nature and you should have an amazing tank!

How long could i leave him in there with the stocks recommended. I wouldn't be getting rid of him, he would just be moved to my pond :)

As for the Festae. I could not have a pair in there though right. just one male or one female...

I would rather a community. I like the salvini. but im geuss the same as the festae, no breeding in the community?
