^ as long as we get to eat them afterwards, i'm in
lol, during my search i saw what the organizer of the festival say happens "just grab 'em, put on on a mat, tap on the shell, make the head come out, try to kiss it, if it tries to bite you pull it's head out and hold it up, no injuries and put back in the container"....then i read peta's version of the event which is what the original poster said. some of the vids describe exactly what the organizer showed but other vids show people getting pretty rough with the turtle (basically looks like they're choking a rag doll). since it's all good, i'm doin a cat tossing contest next weekend. we'll grab 'em from a playpen and run to a marked spot and see who can swing them around their head by the tail and toss it the furthest! who's in?
as long as we get to eat them afterwards, i'll bring the soy sauce

i honestly see nothing wrong with the vid. if they do kill them its by snapping there neck painless. How do u think people harvest chikens on a farm? they walk out grab it by its neck do a little swing twist with the wrsit chops its head off and roast
If you really think about it, this is no worse than sport fishing, where you bait a fish with a giant hook in its mouth, fight it and stress it out for sometimes hours, flop it up on the boat, yank the hook out, pose with the fish, then throw it back. We humans like to rape, manhandle and try to tame any animal, just to prove we're better/faster/stronger/cooler. It's just what we do as a species.
