Large Cichlid for a 180 gallon.

Don't you have a bunch? I thought you liked them? I always have but have never kept them.

Yep, got my colony in a 240. I can't say that I really like them. I mean, the are nice to look at, but that's about it. They spook easily, and are rather boring. They were my first cichlid.

Hmm, well at least you can probably get some good money off them if you want to get rid of them. Yours are pretty damn big if I'm thinking of the right tank.

Yepp. I've got full growns in my colony. I did have them for sale, but for some reason people thought $50 for a full grown adult was too expensive. :screwy:

Well I have been thinking alot and would really like to try two or three pairs of large cichlids. Was thinking a pair of flowerhorn, a pair of midas or festae, and a pair of managuense or green terrors.

What do you think of this combo? I also recently bought 6 3-4" silver dollars to act as dithers. Will they be ok?

3 pairs? You're completely out of your mind. lol.

That would never work.

If you got a mellow FH, you might be able to get away with 1 of each (same sex)... but once you have a pair, you're looking at a scene from 300! Yes, there will be blood so to speak.

I have a 150 with carpintis, and a set has paired, and has bred and given babies already twice this month.. they are not aggressive to the other guys.. so if you want a nice looking pair, I would go with them. And they can get HUGE!
