Moving sick armatus , yay or nay ?

Ill keep this simple,

Two armatus, one received an injury from the other and possibly harassed by the rays.

He's not acting himself, swim kinda funny (not death stance), chilling in one corner and etc.

Question: do I move him to a bigger tank by himself to let him recover from the wounds

Or

Move the bully and the rays ?

Concern:

I've heard armatus can go into shock/stress if separated from te shoal, does two armatus count as shoal ? I do not want to risk losIng to this cause

Any input is appreciated, in the mean time, lights off, clean water and salt.

I had to move two of my Armatus to hospital tanks to heal eye injuries and I lost one over night and the second lasted 3 weeks in the hospital tank before it commited suicide by slamming into the side of the tank. My suggestion is if you have to move him and he is a big Armatus then make sure its a big hospital tank to avoid stress. Mine where over 12" at the time and even a 90 gallon wasn't big enough. If it's a small Armatus then the move to a hospital tank should be ok.
 
Move the bully and the rays, or at least the rays.. Moving big Armatus has so much risk involved. They can trash pretty bad in the net and hurt themselve
 
Hi, I want to ask what kind of injury was inflicted and what size are the armatus?
 
The smaller armatus is 16", the larger one (bully is 18")

Around 11 Pm las night, I noticed the death stance and I saw one of the ray was trying to hover over him. I just made a quick decision to fill up a tank with the original tank water, and move the sick armatus in the new tank. If I am at the point of no return, then why waste any time ? in the last 10 plus years I've been in this hobby, my # 1 enemy has always been time. I've always had a nasty gut feeling of "I should've done it sooner" feeling.

I caught him with a plastic bag, I didn't want to stress him even further by using a net.

I checked this morning at 3, he was fine...actually look upright for once but still kinda strange. Again at 8, he was still the same...

He's got a few stab wounds from the big armatus and an open wound on his nose from ramming into the glass..

As of now, lights off, clean water, lots of O2, salt and prayers..

Good luck with your armatus. I noticed my two armatus have banged up face/nose, from ramming into the glass when I enter the room, does it ever heal?
 
I always try to keep a dim light in my aquarium room so the fishes do not slam into a log or a rock when they bolt for whatever reason. Do you think this is good practice or total darkness is better?
 
Its a real tough when something happens to an armatus.

I prob would have done the same thing pulling the sick guy. U dont want to put any stress on the healthy one...

I have found once an armatus is stressed pretty good, its hard to get them on the level again

My tank is always bare, these two aren't as skittish as the others I've owned in the past. With these two, I leave te lights on at night and they get natural sunlight during the day

They're all skittish, but more on some than others

Ps: just left the house for lunch, still the same.
