Yours is a Carpintis aka Green Texas. Wackas is a Cyano aka Texas Cichlid. Tbh, I hate common names.
Mo, Those spots on the OP's fish are too large and too tight together to be cyanno... also the color on a cyanno would be duller.. more of a gray. I know you keep or have kept several races of carpintis and the patterning is slightly different on all but I think this fish coincides closer to carpintis.Both fish...his and the other link are H. cyanaguttatus. Neither of those fish are Carpinte. Average for the fish in an aquarium is @ 10" Some can get larger.
He looks nice, its a shame about your Green Terror though but i suppose it could have been worse.

Sorry to hear about the Gt but IMO you have the better looking fish...
I agree with him NOT being a Cyanoguttatus - the spots are just too large.
I actually see a dark blotch in the dorsal fin in a few of the pictures, indicating a female. Updated pictures would help.
